Age has no real bearing on the selection process; the selection to this Section is purely by musical ability and experience of playing within an orchestral environment. Performance standard is grade 3+.

The Intermediate Section is led by musical director, Jane Hopper and is supported by two music tutors, Dave Moon (brass) and Joel Manning (percussion).
