December 2022 Newsletter

CHILDREN IN NEED

On Saturday 19th November. The Senior Section played at The Meadows Shopping Centre, Camberley to raise funds for Children in Need. Their 2 hour programme of music was well received by shoppers visiting Marks & Spencer and Tesco, with many parents also attending in support. A total of £803.23 was collected, all of which will be donated to this worthy charity, which the Orchestra has supported for many years. Well done and thank you to all those that participate in this performance.

CHRISTMAS CONCERT RAFFLE

Further to the message in our November Newsletter, we would very much welcome the donation of raffle prizes to support our fundraising efforts to help with ongoing operating costs for the Orchestra.

If you don't have any ideas of what to donate, fancy biscuits, wine of any variety, lovely chocolates as well as any items that would appeal to our younger audience are all very popular, especially with any sort of Christmas theme. Smaller items will be combined to make an attractive hamper.

Please bring your donations to one of our rehearsals before the concerts, preferably on 3rd or 10th December. Thank you.

Raffle tickets will be sold on the night, so please stop by our raffle table in the lobby of the church when you attend for the concert. Thank you.

CHRISTMAS CONCERTS TICKETS

As advised in our November Newsletter, the price of concert tickets this year is £8 (eight pounds), with a free ticket for any Junior Section member that attends the concert with a parent. The concert will start at 7.30pm and finish at 9.00pm. As was the arrangement last Christmas, there will not be an interval, although we will be holding a raffle each evening this year.

We are confident that the programme of music to be presented by our Senior and Intermediate Sections will lift spirits in the lead up to Christmas, after what has been a very challenging 2022 for many, and we look forward to seeing everyone on either Friday 16th December or Saturday 17th December.
