Sandra Kay
We have already informed our members and their parents of the sad news regarding Sandra. As the Orchestra was such an important part of Sandra's life, her husband Mick has extended an open invitation to anyone involved in the Orchestra, including parents of our Orchestra members, who would like to attend Sandra's funeral to pay their last respects.
The funeral will be held at Aldershot Crematorium on Thursday 28 March at 1.30pm.
As numbers at the ceremony will be limited, Mick has asked me to let him know how many CYWO representatives will be attending. If you would like to accept Mick's invitation, please email me (brian.hopper@cywo.org.uk ) and I will then pass numbers on to Mick.
Ticket Sales for Spring Concerts - Friday 17th & Saturday 18th May 2019
Tickets for our May concerts this year are now on sale through Camberley Theatre box office. The ticket price is £8.50 (no change from last year). All sections of the Orchestra will perform on both nights.
We believe the Orchestra provides excellent entertainment value and, ideally, we would ask all Orchestra members and their parents to ensure that they actively encourage family and friends to purchase tickets for this coming May’s concerts. If each Orchestra member were to sell a minimum of 5 tickets, then we can be confident of a good size audience for both nights of the concert.
Please don’t leave it to the last minute. Start thinking about and planning for your active participation in the sale of tickets for our May concerts.
Box Office Information
The theatre accepts all debit/credit cards except American Express. Cheques should be made payable to Surrey Heath Borough Council. The theatre charges a £2 transaction fee on all bookings. This fee enables them to give the best possible service, keeps their ticket prices as affordable as possible and reflects card and cash fees that they are charged. They also charge a £1 postage fee but do not post tickets within 7 days of the concerts. Please note postage is only available to UK addresses. Tickets are free to collect from the Box Office. Theatre Club members do not pay the transaction or postage fee.

Save time, book online and choose your own seat at www.camberleytheatre.co.uk. You will need to create a secure online account to purchase tickets. All tickets are available through the website.
Opening Times
The Box Office is open for counter or phone bookings, Monday to Friday 10am-5pm and Saturdays 10am-4pm. When there is a show, they are open until 15 minutes after the show starts. They are closed Sunday and Bank Holidays unless there’s a show when the Box Office opens 2 hours before the show starts.
Rehearsal Departures
Following an incident outside Cordwalles School after rehearsals on Saturday last, we feel it appropriate to remind all parents that our policy on collection of their child/children after rehearsals is for them to be collected from within the school grounds, not from the pavement outside where they are unsupervised. This applies to all sections of the Orchestra, unless a senior section member is using their own car for transport and is parked on the playground used for Saturday parking. Thank you.
Overseas Concert Tour 2020
A decision has now been made regarding the concert tour for the summer of 2020, which is to be to Valencia in Spain departing Tuesday 28 July 2020 and returning Sunday 2 August 2020.
Detailed tour invitation letters will be sent out to Senior Section Orchestra members during the coming week, with a deadline for the return of expressions of interest by 23 March 2019 at the latest. Once we can be sure that we have sufficient Senior Section members interested in undertaking the tour, with a satisfactory balance of instruments, we then expect to be in a position to move forward with the booking arrangements with our chosen tour company.
The tour price quoted is competitive but we have concerns over any possible additional costs for travelling into Europe after the scheduled date of 29 March 2019 for the UK leaving the EU. We therefore plan to delay the completion of our booking until the beginning of April and, at that time, gain reassurances from our tour company regarding the tour price currently quoted.
As has been our practice in the past, we will also aim to offer places to those members of the Intermediate Section that we believe will have moved up to our Senior Section by the date of the tour. These invitations will be sent out before the end of the summer term.
Bowling
Thank you to all those Junior & Intermediate Section Orchestra members that have responded to the invitation to participate in the bowling event at Farnborough Bowl, starting at 2.30pm and concluding by 4.00pm on Sunday 24 March at a cost of £4 for 2 games.
We have not yet received responses from everyone who received the invitation and therefore, as we are not yet at our maximum number of participants, we have extended the deadline for the return to Saturday 9 March. If you would like to attend and have not yet handed in your acceptance and the £4, please do so at the rehearsal on 9 March, we can then confirm our numbers to Farnborough Bowl.
