We are now half way through our Autumn Term rehearsal schedule! All three sections continue to work hard preparing their playout and concert programmes for our upcoming events. We return to rehearsals on 4th November, it will soon be Christmas!
Children in Need 2023
The Senior Section of the Orchestra will be performing at The Meadows Shopping Centre in Camberley on Saturday 18th November between 10.30am and 12.30pm to raise funds in support of this year’s BBC Children in Need appeal. Details regarding drop off and collection times for Seniors will be sent out in the next few weeks.
Christmas Concerts 2023
The Intermediate and Senior Sections of the Orchestra will be performing at High Cross Church on both Friday 8th and Saturday 9th December. Please note there will be no morning rehearsal for Intermediates and Seniors on Saturday 9th. More details regarding timings for the concerts will be sent out during November.
Tickets – please keep your eyes peeled for upcoming details on how to order your Christmas Concert tickets – an email will be sent out the week commencing 6th November.
Christmas Performance and Coffee!
The Junior Section of the Orchestra will be doing their Christmas Performance at Cordwalles School on Saturday 9th December at 12.15pm, following their morning rehearsal. Refreshments and mince pies will be available for our audience – relatives and supporters are all welcome to attend. Festive outfits encouraged!
Uniform
If you are a parent to a member who has recently moved sections, please could we ask that their Polo Shirts are returned (washed please!) as soon as possible to Reception. The orchestra members will be issued with a new Polo Shirt prior to the Christmas Concerts if required.
Opportunities for learning
We have a team of amazing Surrey Arts teachers on site on Saturday mornings at Cordwalles who have some availability for lessons. We currently have availability for both flute and percussion lessons. If you know of a young person who would like to start learning, please encourage them to apply using the following link: Registration - Surrey Arts (speedadmin.dk)

For planned absences, please continue to use the absence notification form on the CYWO website (www.cywo.org). For any last-minute changes, please notify us on the Cordwalles phone number below by text or voice message.

18th November – Playout for Children in Need at The Meadows for the Senior Section - 10.30am-12.30pm
8th and 9th December – Christmas Concerts at High Cross Church for Intermediate and Senior sections. Rehearsals 5pm onwards, concerts 7.30pm.
9th December – Rehearsal and Christmas Coffee Morning for Juniors. Rehearsal 9.30am-12pm, Coffee morning 12.15pm – 1.00pm.
